Telephone Prayer Chain 

Four telephone chains are vehicles to keep intercession on behalf of others constantly flowing before God.  Call the church office (281-331-3482) with emergency or crisis prayer needs or to become a prayer partner on one of the chains.  To be included in the email prayer chain send a request to leblunck@aol.com.
 

 Prayers and Squares Quilt Ministry

This is a prayer ministry that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-made and hand-tied quilt.  It's main purpose is to promote prayer through the use of quilts.  Their motto is "It's not about the quilt: it's about the prayers."  The idea behind these prayer quilts is simple.  A heavy thread is used to take stitches throught the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a knot.  As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt.  Over the past two years, this team has prayed and given out over 150 quilts.  This ministry team meets the third Thursday morning of each month.  There is always something you can do to help and the fellowship is wonderful.  For more information call 281-331-3482.

Covenant Prayer Group

 A dedicated group of people who meet each Tuesday morning to pray through the week's requests, send notes of encouragement and work in concert with Prayers and Squares Quilt MInistry in praying, tying and delivering the quilts to recipients.

First United Methodist Church believes in the power of praying. You may submit a request for prayer and the prayer ministry of this church will pray for you. Please indicate whether you would like to be included on the prayer board, in the bulletin, or have a note of encouragement sent to you. Prayer requests are kept active for three weeks and renewed upon your request. If you would like to submit a prayer request or note of thanksgiving for answered prayer, please receive permission from the person you are requesting prayer for before you submit their name.
