One of the first questions most people want answered is "Who Are You?" So, Who Are We?
Alvin First United Methodist Church (FUMC) has deep roots in the Alvin community. This year, we will celebrate our 127th birthday. As the needs of the Alvin community have changed, we have changed to keep our ministries relevant to the needs of the people. We are in our third building, and next year we will break ground on a new addition which will allow us to impact our community with the love of God in an even greater way. This new multipurpose building will allow us to expand our ministries to children, youth, families, adults, and senior adults (life-seasoned adults).
Another question often asked is "What do you believe?"
We believe in warmed hearts and well-used minds when it comes to our faith. We base both our individual lives and our corporate life on the Word of God, the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that Jesus is the one and only Son of God, and we confess Him unashamedly as the Lord of our lives. We believe that Jesus is both Lord of creation and the Savior of the world. And we believe that His offer of forgiveness and new life has been extended to individuals of every race, status, and background, all of whom we welcome gladly into our community.
